The 'innovators' at Wayve, Uber's autonomous vehicle investment, are not just content with automating the actual driving, they also want to replicate and automate the emotional labour of drivers as well!

According to Pershing Square, a major investor in Uber, in the near future human drivers will only fill in gaps at periods of peak demand, most of the work will be done by autonomous vehicle fleets. Having destroyed decent work, Uber now wants to kill off employment altogether.

Uber Eats' St Patrick's Day promotion shows both the limitations of generative AI as well as its prejudicial stereotyping. Suggestions for 'ingredients for an Irish supper' is restricted to 9 types of potatoes, 2 types of mince meat, corned beef, cabbage, 4 types of butter, kale and er, that's it.

Delivery platforms are fuelling fears against their own workforce, promoting the idea that your delivery worker may be undocumented and worthy of suspicion. This only makes workers more vulnerable to harassment and violence.

Rampant Robo-firing ❌
Deliveroo fire a worker for taking too long on his journeys. The data shows just 3 flagged rides clearly suggesting a termination trigger was activated. The human review fails to pick up that for 1 ride, the worker arrived at the restaurant within seconds.

Pension auto enrolment is a legal requirement as TfL knows. Yet here we have Robert Maxwell level pension fiddling reported to TfL in March 2024 & yet in May 2024 TfL & Sadiq Khan granted Bolt a new public license. Heads must roll!
