I also just watched it for the first time the other day. It’s a Christmas movie.

Look, I was on your team until I actually watched the thing, but popular Christmas songs bookend the movie and I can’t think of another major holiday that has an office-wide party that has to happen for the bad guys to get the amount of hostages they’re looking for. Christmas is a major plot point.
