It’s a shame that dems have been on the wrong side of this over the last 20 years.
The country caps on employment based green cards put Indians and Chinese in perpetual purgatory, no matter how skilled they are; being stuck on an h1b. Most of these are already in the US and have been for a decade.

There’s not enough American kids in STEM (education / healthcare neither) that can keep up with the demand.
Only 85k new h1b’s a yr are allowed into the country as well; most of these are students graduating from US grad schools.
It’s not a lot given the total workforce or job openings at any time
