I think that can only be true if all Dems are non-white and all Reps are white. Here's the tortured map of the districts in my area. Some counties are split 4 ways to divide the Dems and dilute their votes with Reps votes. Turnout is poor when your vote is made statistically insignificant.

People outside Texas may not appreciate just how gerrymandered we already are. If people feel their vote is statistically pointless they don't bother voting. The effect of disenfranchisement is incredibly corrosive. Some counties in my area are divided into 4 districts in order to dilute the vote.

In Texas, with publicly available voting data and some clever use of AI, gerrymandering can almost be done house to house. This voter in, that voter out of a given district. In my area the map is already so tortured some counties are divided into 4 districts to dilute the vote.

You have no idea how far gerrymandering can go. This is my part of Texas. Everyone thinks Texas is a pure red state but it's all rigged. Be vigilant and guard your districting fiercely.

We have a mated couple that nest nearby every year. Often four to a brood and they love cooling off in our fountain. Lots of great photo opps and interesting behaviors.
