Since everyone is fleeing the bird channel again, allow me to introduce myself to BlueSky:

My name is Ryan, and I write comics. I wrote a graphic novel called THE BROTHERS FLICK: THE IMPOSSIBLE DOORS, and I'm working on a number of others.

You'll hear more from me soon.
@sami-kivela.bsky.social Just wanted to say, your artwork on "Movie Night" is absolutely gorgeous. I can't wait to see it in print. Thanks for bringing it to life in such spectacular fashion!

Last night, I decided to continue (and, in a way, restart) the story of the Brothers Flick as a novel rather than pursuing a new publisher for the graphic novel series.

This morning, I wrote 1,000 words, and it feels right. We'll see how the next 1,000 go.

During my six-year-old's school performance this evening, a young boy came over to me and said, "Excuse me, sir?"

I thought he was going to ask if he could squeeze by me. "Yes?"

"I just wanted to tell you that I read your book, and I loved it, and I really hope you write a sequel."

I needed that.

"The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command."

You know.

I wrote up five story pitches this week for a potential comic opportunity. This morning, I had another idea. Whiteboard to the rescue.

Because of my marketing day job, I have to browse LinkedIn on occasion. And the fakeness of all of it seriously makes my stomach turn.

How did we create an entire culture around finding our purpose in helping to make rich people richer?

Sigh. I'm beginning to think this is going to be my sole social media platform. The new Meta rules are... disappointing at best and outright cruel and dangerous at worst.

Guys, I just finished reading Tender Is The Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica. I am... not okay.

I'm going to be thinking about this one for a while.

If it's on your TBR, just be aware that pretty much every content warning in existence applies to this book. But, man, did it leave a mark on my brain.

Teachers in Oklahoma are absolutely tired of the Republicans bullshit, and I for one am here for it.
You know what to do ladies and gentlemen.
Spread this far and wide.

P.S. Ryan Walters can take his Christian Nationalism, and his $60 Trump Bibles and shove them straight up his ass.

My family is slightly behind the times, but the big family present this year was a PS5.

I'm watching my oldest play Spider-Man 2 and... God I wish I had more time for games. My 8-year-old self is watching from behind my eyes, absolutely amazed.

Just watched the #Superman trailer, and... wow. Just wow.

"Krypto, take me home."

Guy Gardner's ridiculous hair.

Mister Terrific on screen.

Clark looking like a proper nerd, making it understandable how no one would confuse him for Superman.

And that John Williams riff.

I'm so there.

I realize I'm a few weeks behind at this point...

...but I just finished the first episode of #SkeletonCrew.

I didn't know how much I needed the Goonies in a Galaxy Far, Far Away until just now. That was so much fun.

Graphic novel writers and artists, when you're submitting to agents, how many rejections do you get before you say to yourself, "Maybe this idea isn't quite right yet?"

I love finding it in the wild. This BROTHERS FLICK sighting brought to you by the library where I spent so many Saturdays as a kid.

Also quite thankful for @byrononeal.com, who was my first ever podcast interview. I loved talking comics, stories, and East Tennessee shenanigans with you, and I look forward to getting another project out there so maybe we can do it again.
I’m thankful for @byrononeal.com who started the Cryptid Creator Corner, edits all episodes, & stepped up big time to take over as Editor-in-Chief of @comicbookyeti.com so it didn’t end & has worked tirelessly (actually he’s very tired) to build the Yeti community here on 🦋. cryptidcreatorcorner.com
