so now we have a Microsoft and Nvidia both moving to cloud-based services because they know entertainment is something they can milk people dry for. i foresee this getting worse and worse over the next decade until compute power is held exclusively by shitbag corporations and we have almost nothing.

during the Microsoft purchase of Acti Blizz King, only a single country displayed a bit of worry about Xbox Cloud and what Microsoft was doing, and it was the UK. the pretty-much-useless compromise was to give Ubisoft streaming rights for Activision and Blizzard games for 15 years.

reading slightlier more: increasing GPU costs to make it not feasible reaslistically for price:performance models as they were and instead lock consumers into a subscription model because they know that consumers will consume. just my crackpot theory based on how Xbox and Nvidia are acting.

this was the keys used to sign our software, so pretty serious stuff. two of them were in fireproof safes located in our two different offices, the third being in the CEOs house i believe or something like that. but we also kept our SSLs copied to these locations too as we were paying big bucks.

i'd say look at disaster recovery (DR) documentation from what a self-hosting company would do. i worked at cPanel during a big revamp of our DR, and it involved printing off private keys in plaintext and stored to a hard drive and physical drive, copied 3 times, kept in different locations.
