The awards aren't until the end of Nov, I'm not sure when their cut off is for counting streams... Can't hurt though?

They'll only help if they're from YT, spotify or apple though

regularly. It shows more accurately what is currently being pushed and what people love regardless of how long ago it came out. I think the charts should show both the current trend and the long-standing faves of the audience, because thats what people are listening too.

They stay in the charts because of this impact, think like MJ or The Beatles. The UK chart is one of the most strict, and a lot of it's rules make it so you can't really manipulate the charts even if you wanted to. And in the UK we see both the current trending artists and the OG legends chart

The 2nd type of act, the one with less but more active fans, are popular because of impact. Their art/words/performances have resonated and inspired people, and those people have shown their love in response. These are the acts that stand the test of time, even long after the act stopped promotion

1 is popular most likely due to exposure - if we, as the general population, weren't constantly exposed to the music we would probably forget about the act in time and they would fade out of the charts. Those are the acts often pushed onto the public by the big labels.

I guess the word popular is vague, it could and does mean both. If 1 act has 100m casual listeners it'd probably equate to another act that has 10m active listeners/fans. The difference is reason they are popular.
