I primarily work digitally on an iPad Pro using @procreate.com and brushes from @retrosupply.bsky.social and @truegrittexture.bsky.social but for the early stages of story development, I find it easier to work with pencil in a sketchbook. Here's a look at what I keep in my pencil bag.

I start my stories by writing the manuscript. Around the time I was writing the 1st draft of Earth Rover, I started sketching dog characters in my sketchbook. The early sketches didn't look much like the final Rover at all. Once I settled on a Basset Hound, his character really started to develop.
