In 1978 as a 2nd year undergraduate at my current institution I received a letter indicating that I was awarded a book prize in Canadian history named for the gent below and from his private library. I duly wrote a sincere thank you letter. 1/2

With his death, and the recent death of founder Mike Pinder, no member of the classic Moodies lineup is left except Justin Hayward, who will turn 79 this Tuesday (Tuesday Afternoon?). Passing of an era. RIP.

Best known for SWAT's team leader Hondo Harrelson in mid-70s tv show, he was also a lead in at least 2 Disney flicks, 1969's Rascal and 1970's The Wild Country (in the latter against villain played by Morgan Woodward, who was exactly 13 days his elder).
