Today I painted up Rohan shields. I aim for table-top ready, but as soon as the magnifier glass turns on I'm locked into detail painting. I blame the gorgeous sculpts.

It's hard for me to chart progress when batch coloring. Notice some capes are yellower than others. That's because instead of applying my 3rd glaze of Algae Green I got sidetracked on other parts of that model. When will the madness end?!

Beyond the action, I love Hard Boiled's poetic storytelling touches, like the flower in the pocket and coded musical notes—a cool parallel to the intense shootouts. And seeing Anthony Wong, Tony Leung, and Chow Yun-fat together on screen is always awesome.
