little dowel keeping things together. Nobody’s ever going to see it but it’s going to keep doing its job. I like to think there are people out there who are still doing their jobs and keep things together even if I can’t see it. But I also know I have to put it there first or it can’t do its job.

Late to the party but I installed one of these yesterday. It was not just an easy swap, the old lock that broke was a different style. That’s the downside of updating stuff in an old home. It’s got character but everything is slightly different from standard.
