I want the people that are ruling this country to be smarter than me. I am very disappointed.
I don't really post much, if at all, but I reply to a lot of other people's posts.
All, or almost all, are either for really rich contributors to trump, or those that tried to help him overturn the 2020 election and has nothing to do with them being worthy of a pardon.
So, the lesson is don't do the crime unless you can pay for a pardon.

One of my favorite Emeraldisms was when she got fired from Newsmax (yes, Newsmax!) for tweeting that coronavirus vaccines “contain a bioluminescent marker called LUCIFERASE so that you can be tracked.”

For posts like this, I wish there was an option other than a heart. I would like to have options like "like", "like very much", "don't like", "hate", "ewwww", and "horrified".
This gets a "horrified" from me.

Coincidentally, that is the exact percentage that drug prices will come down under trump.

When he said that Obama was commander in chief and he didn't like Obama. Now his CIC, his idol, his fantasy lover is the bloated orange moron, so everything is different now.

Pretty sure that "the fog of war" has to do with conditions during actual warfare when the parties are attacking each other and information is scarce. I don't think it applies to a missile being fired from a drone by someone far away on a target that is not only not attacking but has no warning.

Oh my God! He really believes he is king of the world, and the impotent congress does nothing to discourage him.

Remember when trump and Pompeo negotiated the future of Afghanistan with the Taliban and didn't include the Afghan government in the talks. Then they released 5000 Taliban fighters from prison and drew down our troops there to 2500? Remember that? That sure worked out well, didn't it?
November 30, 2025 at 2:24 AM
I voted against all of this. Unfortunately, many voted for it and many just didn't bother to vote.

More from article 3:
To this end, the following acts are and shall remain prohibited at any time and in any place whatsoever with respect to the above-mentioned persons:
a) violence to life and person, in particular murder of all kinds, mutilation, cruel treatment and torture...

Article 3 of the Geneva Conventions:
...Persons taking no active part in the hostilities, including members of armed forces who have laid down their arms and those placed hors de combat by sickness, wounds, detention, or any other cause, shall in all circumstances be treated humanely...

I wonder if the Afghanistan withdrawal that he and Pompeo orchestrated, would have gone smoother if they hadn't insisted on the release of 5000 taliban fighters, and if they hadn't prematurely reduced our troops there to 2500, and maybe if they had included the Afghan government in the plans.
November 29, 2025 at 5:34 PM
Or the Geneva Conventions.
November 29, 2025 at 6:53 AM
But the US is party to the Geneva Conventions, and this action violates Article 3.
November 29, 2025 at 1:30 AM
Yes, this is the type of ILLEGAL order that Kelley and others warned about. Hegseth should be tried as well as Admiral Frank Bradley who carried out the order. This violates Article 3 of the Geneva Convention.
November 29, 2025 at 1:26 AM
Even if they did have that proof, which they don't, it would still violate Article 3 of the Geneva Conventions.
November 29, 2025 at 1:21 AM
Apparently, this happened in September. Adm. Frank M. "Mitch" Bradley was reportedly the commander who oversaw the mission. Hopefully, he will be held accountable when, if, sanity returns to our government.

No, Hegseth should be in jail, as well as the commander that carried out his ILLEGAL order to murder the survivors of their illegal boat attack. The murder of the survivors is a direct violation of Geneva Conventions Art. 3. Lock them up.

I subscribe to The Beaverton on Bluesky. They are basically Canada's Onion. Anyone quoting them in a serious article is an idiot, but that seems to be the state of much journalism today. Fact checking seems to run against the need to get stories out fast.
November 28, 2025 at 8:32 PM
And even after your warning, a military officer has carried out an ILLEGAL order, in violation of Article 3 of the Geneva Conventions. Hegseth should be fired immediately and heads should roll. The order to kill survivors in the water is illegal and immoral.

And here is an example of one of those ILLEGAL orders that Kelley and the others warned service members about.
Direct violation of Article 3 of Geneva Conventions, which US is party to. Heads should be rolling.

I am pretty sure he said the same about Ukraine about 3 years ago.

An embarrassment to the whole country. I didn't vote for this pig, but I , like every other citizen am tarnished by the crudeness of this man that was elected TWICE to lead our formerly fairly respectable country.
November 28, 2025 at 7:41 AM
So, Ratcliffe thinks that we should have left those that worked with our soldiers in Afghanistan to die at the hands of the taliban for helping the US? Just as one American who commits a heinous crime doesn't reflect all Americans, the same with the Afghanis that worked with us.
