Our government here in the UK has been telling us that a group called Palestine Action is a terrorist organisation - but without offering us any evidence. Dozens of old folk have been arrested and jailed for holding placards in support of Palestine. I hope your Gov can show proof.

I thought the only wrong done to the American settlers was that of taxation without representation. Other than that, they were left to themselves I thought. Not like here, where religious freedom was harshly repressed, for example.

Despite the American distaste for it, our democratic constitutional monarchy is a red herring. It’s pertinent our children are not shot dead in their classrooms, as the tragedy of 13th March ‘96 in Dunblane resulted in an immediate nationwide ban on private ownership of almost every type of firearm.

My point was that a gun is completely pointless until it fulfills its primary purpose of killing. Of course, being a UK citizen I’ve never used a firearm outside of the Army, and hunting is a pastime reserved for the landed gentry. But that’s the norm in plenty of countries. I hope the USA joins us
