Mine did too for a long time. It's because shoes unnaturally smoosh your toes together. After long enough going barefoot/wearing barefoot shoes, your toes start to naturally splay again and stop touching. At least, that was my experience.

I tried these and somehow they made the problem worse. The real solution I found was barefoot shoes with no socks or just going barefoot when possible.
