Not my three favourite, but the unjustly ignored:

- May Agnes Fleming, the first Canadian novelist to make a living through her writing;
- Joanna E. Wood, whose The Untempered Wind (1894) is the only novel to make me weep;
- Jan Hilliard, whose Miranda (1960) is the best novel I read last year.
