Digimon Story Time Stranger - A
This is absolutely my GotY. Time Stranger is everything I wanted out of it and more. A great creature collector RPG with a fantastic story that is both character and world driven that kept me invested for the entire runtime. I highly suggest trying this game/its demo.

Digimon Universe: AppMon - C
I have mixed feelings. The structure and pace of each individual ep didn’t vibe with me. But I liked the characters and how the overarching plot deepens with each story arc. I also liked the appmon designs but not the 3D used for higher levels. It’s good, but not for me.

THPS 3+4 - B
Not perfect, but it scratches that THPS itch very well. While 3’s half is a great remaster, 4’s is just okay. The size of 4’s levels forces you to increase the timer from 2min to 5(or even 10) just so you can do single objectives. Despite the issues though, I still had a lot of fun.

Gears of War 3 - A
Gears 3 is the peak of the series for me(so far). It further refines and, albeit not perfectly, smooths out the gameplay even further. I felt far more invested in the journey, as it felt both bigger and more bombastic, AND closer and more personal for all the characters.

It’s short, it’s goofy, and it doesn’t require a whole lot of thinking. Donut County is just a fun silly little game and the perfect thing for when you need a simple relaxing experience.

A solid improvement over the first. There’s still some clunk with the added melee/dodge mechanic as I often would dodge instead of using melee in certain situations. The story drags ever so slightly towards the end of the game. Otherwise Gears 2 is a great follow up to Gears 1.

Wolfenstein The New Order - A
Pretty much everything I enjoyed about the Old Blood, but without most of my frustrations with that one. There were a couple moments of annoyance, but it was entirely my fault for those. I can see why The New Order is seen as the best of the modern Wolfenstein games.

Little Kitty Big City - A
It’s short, cute, and silly. A perfect, fun, little exploration platforming game. It doesn’t take long to get through, but it is a good little experience that is definitely worth spending time on.

I think Gears of War has aged surprisingly well. There’s still some clunkiness from it being the first installment(and being 20yrs old), but the overall experience is pretty fun. Most moments of frustration on my end are likely solved by playing the game in co-op as intended.

Metro 2033 Redux - A
I know nothing about the books this game is based on, but what I do know is that it is an excellent game. Metro manages to perfectly blend action fps gameplay with a tense, survival horror-like, atmosphere. If you like linear story fps games, Metro 2033 is an excellent choice.

TES III Morrowind - D
While I initially wanted to only rank stuff I finished, I can take no more of this one. Morrowind has incredible core systems and an interesting, slow burn story marred by everything else about the game. The fun I did have was overwhelmed by how bored or frustrated it made me.

A good old time doing a time honored pastime. A very refined experience with a story that mostly understands what you’re there to do. A few moments of frustration bog it down, and I do wish that it was a little bit longer, nothing about the game overstays its welcome.

An absolute joy to play. Great visuals, fantastic story and characters. Challenging but never frustrating. I have minor nitpicks regarding combat, but otherwise no complaints. If you haven’t played it yet, do so at your earliest convenience.
