Also the fact that we've stayed steady in year 39 since Queen's cliffhanger makes me think episode 20 is more than likely going to be a tournament arc (specifically the 20th tournament that happens in 40AC)

But to those of us who were theatre kids, orchestra kids, or have at least some passing knowledge on mythology and old fairy tales, it's actually pretty clear and easy to understand. The anime, although technically an isekai, is written and paced like a theatrical performance with various movements.
