It's ridiculously more effective alone than anything else. Even combinations of the others studied didn't come close. At the same time we actually need copper, so it isn't as toxic to us as silver.

Copper's antimicrobial properties are also much better than silver's, and they carry over to many alloys. Hopefully we'll be seeing a lot more brass handles in the future.
