However, putting trans people on a pedestal where they aren't held accountable for their actions will just make transphobes hate us even more because we are getting special treatment.

If a trans person does something terrible to someone, they should be held accountable to that person just like everyone else.
That terrible thing just shouldn't be attributed to that person being trans. It's simply being a terrible person. Them being trans had nothing to do with it.
