Tucked back in the far corner of our Tenino sanctuary are two Mexican wolves living their best lives. Eight-year-old M1669 (Sirius) & 11-year-old F1361 (Sedona) are an affectionate pair who enjoy good natured play. Despite only having three legs, Sirius is agile, fast, and holds his own in a tussle!

We recently moved one of our cameras to Mexican wolves M1429 (Copal) and F2054 (Zinnia)'s enclosure. This pair is one of the spunkiest in the sanctuary. Copal regularly taunts his neighbors & gets the whole sanctuary going in a howl. Zinnia is not as vocal, but is the perfect high-energy counterpart

Many supporters recently donated items from our Amazon & Chewy wishlists, and we want to thank you for the joy you brought the sanctuary residents 😊 Little Foot was elated by the donated pheasant scent in particular! We sprinkled this unique enrichment on sticks and tossed them into her enclosure.

What better way to greet the day than a sleepy howl by one of five Mexican wolf brothers who live together in a playful family group! While the restof his siblings snoozed nearby, this guy let out some big, long, lazy vocalizations 😊 #wolfhaven #wolfsanctuary #trailcam #caughtoncamera #howlingwolf

Happy Red Wolf Day! This year marks the 38th anniversary of the first release of American Red Wolves back into the wild in eastern North Carolina on September 14, 1987. To commemorate, we are showcasing F2537 (Cassia), who was born at Wolf Haven in 2023 through collaboration with the SAFE program 💚🐺
