Also to add onto this, disconnecting your smart tv from the internet, setting it to wake up to last input and getting an onn pro box then installing projectivity launcher makes a tv that literally nukes ads minus in-app. The remote can add IR that turns on/off your tv and changes the input.

Here from my friend @jordancarroll.com; setting up a headless Debian build with casaos and Jellyfin then hosting that via nginx is legit the best way to go. You’re gonna need a good graphics card and some driver coding to transcode well but it’s all worth it.
