I still feel grumpy at how this won Best Picture over The Exorcist, American Graffiti, AND Cries and Whispers; but grrr it IS a good movie and justifiably a classic.

Interesting.... not quite sure what to make of it exactly. Satire on school shootings feels callous, satire on teenagers on their damn phones too boomer, satire on AI is--if not disingenuous-- then self-deflatingly clever in the "don't listen to me I'm a liar" vein. And all too in love with itself

I dunno, a "gilded trash remake of THE ZONE OF INTEREST" sounds kind of fire. Where is everyone's sense of adventure? Seriously, it's a movie. Having these images reflect in the back of your eyeballs and these sounds echo in your ears is not literally going to brainwash you.

One of the great pleasures of being a teenage film geek is seeing it because you heard PULP FICTION stole the glowing suitcase from it and realizing that it's just as good.

As an 8 year old I would get in passionate arguments with other kids when watching this that Tokyo is a city in Japan and not a separate country.

No bold or original answers either: Terminator 2, Death Proof (which was designed to have the "Best Chase Scene Ever", and yes One Battle After Another did something innovative.

The only Oscar I actually feel really invested in is Casting. If MARTY SUPREME doesn't win I will be genuinely outraged.
