Definitely bad - giant megacorps can use the lower prices to gain competitive advantage and get rid of smaller importers. And more complexity in tariff codes also means that you need to have better specialists that work on it (which means more fixed costs - that big corps can better weather).

You should see how Musk (along with Rubio) "advertised" his Starlink to Polish Foreign Minister Sikorski. Cratering his own business as well as reputation of the USA seems to be their plan (or they're just that stupid).

Mastodon has its own set of issues regarding moderation - simply because of its decentralized nature. From what I know, the level of protection against bad users depends on the quality of the instance's (Mastodon's hub's) moderation team.
So asking someone to "join mastodon" by itself is useless.
