Once again it's time for me to post my Smash Ultimate tier list. The most notable decline is Corrin followed by Pit. Fox saw a major increase in results.

Third and final tier list is an all-time placement list. The surprising thing which isn't represented in the list, is that the majority of tournament wins involved multiple characters.
Second tier list is from 2016 to 2024. Pikachu is now the best character in the game. I doubled the number of entrants required for an event to be a major. Samus has a much worse score, largely from the best solo Samus player walking away from the game.

Here are the 64 tier lists I worked on. First is from 2008 to 2015. Any event over 100 was broken down like a major, others listed on SSBWiki were considered minor events. I surprised Fox is so low but otherwise everything is as expected.

The final Smash 4 tier list I made is different from the others as it gauges by singleton not frequency. Majors are events with over 500 entrants, supermajor is over 1000 entrants. Characters are mostly ranked by how they do as sole mains. I could add duel mains or main with pockets in the future.

2018 is the final year of top level competition for Smash 4. Bayonetta proves that she is the best character by a large margin. Marth and Corrin are now top tier threats. Mario has fallen off.

The year 2017 saw Diddy Kong become the best character in the game, with majority of results coming from one player. Cloud and Baynetta become common place in top 8s of majors. This year had the most amount of events and the tied with 2016 for the most supermajors.

2nd tier list is Brawl's prime years, 2010 to 2014 respectively. Meta Knight is at his peak with 40% saturation. Ice Climbers is 11% to give you some context. This list is the only one of the three to have super-majors at 300 entrants.

1st tier list is from 2008 to 2010 (there was no events in 2007 to qualify and Evo is disqualified for running items). I considered majors to be any event above 100 entrants and everything else is a minor. Meta Knight makes up roughly 37% of the meta and Snake is about 17%.

This is the 2023 tier list. I have not posted this list on Bluesky before. Additionally, the methodology was different (B Tiers were 300 entrants). Also, the character icons are smaller than I would have liked but that was before I discovered a better tier list maker.

This is the 2024 halfway tier list (I forgot the colors in the alt text last time). Methodology is unchanged this year.
