Clearly a matter of opinion. I’d take KP over Jayawardene? Few could turn a test the way that KP did.

Vaughan’s record against the Aussies h and a makes him a better pick than Sehwag?

Flintoff is a far better 1st change bowler than Kallis. I’d take Kallis as a batter tho?

Pietersen? Vaughan? Flintoff?

Check his record in England, he is far from unplayable.

I think he benefits from bowling at the other end to some all time greats? The choice to either attack Cummins / Starc / Hazelwood or the “other bowler” is simple?

See also Tim May / MacGill / Clark / Broad / Patterson etc

Seems a tad harsh on Atkinson? 52 wkts at 22 (inc 10fer, century and hat trick ).

Hi James, usually agree with you but not on this.

Video shows clear deviation in ball path off the bat - nothing else involved unless the ball his a “heavy” air molecule.

Perhaps worth reflecting how the bcci technology often produces results in odd results? Remember Root’s lbw?

Great choice. Smallest ground I ever played on - and lovely village /pub.

One small quibble tho - it’s in Worcestershire (a few miles out of Droitwich).

Keep up the good work!

Probably a function of the dross he served up on the final day in Wellington.

Leach would have enjoyed this wicket?

Unpopular view - was looking forward to watching Boland play in England as always loved the Alderman / Fleming / Clark / Reiffel Aussie bowlers.

Saw Boland in the 23 Ashes and as OS for Durham last season - he was terrible. Looked heavy, bowled slow and short. Must be better for 25 Ashes?

He’s one of their best picks. Often looked innocuous in FC cricket whilst he was qualifying.

He has been outstanding.

Oh, I’ve missed this logic.

I’m going back to arguing that Scotland wore world champions in 1967 when we beat England…🙌🏻

As a Warwickshire fan, I’m flabbergasted. Bethell is a great talent, but not ready yet - what has Hain done wrong?

And we’ve picked a spinner when the kiwis - fresh from demolishing India with spin - have not… so we know their wicket better than them? 🤦🏼

I’d usually agree, but we’re in an England regime where the best bowler is coaching, we pick 3 spinners and no reserve keeper for NZ and Ollie Pope is vice captain - a certainty to be dropped before the next Ashes.

So on that basis not that bizarre?

Love the idea!

England cricket has been scarred by the memory of Bob Willis, Botham and Flintof”s terrible efforts…

I’d suspect Woakes would make an excellent skipper?
