Problem with this team for last decade has been we drafted high floor, low ceiling guys then asked them to fulfill star roles above their talent level. We made a conscious switch in 2020 to more raw, higher ceiling talent….but still haven’t developed or put in positions to succeed.

It’s actually was and always will be Player Development. Cards tried Pitching first a decade ago with Martinez, Miller, and Wacha…traded Gallen and Alcantara, never really developed an ace, then abandoned the approach in 2020 to focus on the lineup.
