I'm a Specialist Mental Health Paramedic and currently at university as a trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner. I respond to mental health emergency in the West Midlands Ambulance Service's new Mental Health Response Vehicle.
What a week, and it's only Tuesday! 🚑 Yesterday was a whirlwind, being busy with emergency calls on the MHRV and providing crucial support. Today, I attended a Coaching Development session for #FTSU Ambassadors to better support our amazing staff. Feeling grateful and energised! 💪✨ #BusyWeek

If an ambulance is behind you at a red light, don’t cross the white line — it’s a traffic offence!
Stay put until the light turns green or it's safe for them to pass.

Crews will:

*Keep distance*

*Silence sirens*

*Wait if unsafe*

Enjoying some much-needed rest after 4 shifts on the MHRV and a day of learning. It was an emotional few days supporting patients in crisis, but we succeeded in keeping them out of the ED. Getting patients to help and treatment is such an amazing feeling. Feeling proud and grateful. 🌞

It's #MadFriday! Many of us will be heading out for a festive tipple tonight so we have a question...how will you be getting home? 🚕🚑🚓

Drinking and driving risks lives. Please don't endanger yourself and others - arrange a taxi home, or have a sober designated driver🚰.

Our NHS is facing high demand. To ensure emergency resources are available for those most in need, please use pharmacies, GPs and NHS 111 online first before calling 999 or going to A&E, unless it's a serious emergency. Together we can help manage the pressure on our NHS.
