My grandfather never came to tell me when he got back, but several more months later, my uncle’s house burned down overnight. My uncle is a notoriously deep sleeper, but he woke up in time to get out. A couple of days later, he told everyone that my grandfather was the one who woke him that night.

Several months after my grandfather passed, he came to me in a dream to let me know he was taking a few days to go to the river to go fishing (something he often did in life), but I was to let everyone know he’d be back soon, the implication being we needed watching over but he needed a break.
