A wonderful childhood memory came to life. Parked down the street from our place was the Scooby Doo Mystery Van.

Scooby, Shaggy, Daphne, Velma and Fred were off solving a mystery I presume.

My wife wouldn’t let us wait by the van until they returned. #scoobydoo #childhoodmemories #70s

Saddened to learn #KenDryden has died. It feels like one of my most precious childhood memories has faded a bit with this news. As a kid in small town Nova Scotia in the 70’s, playing street hockey was everything. When I was in net with pads and a blocker fashioned out of cardboard, I WAS Dryden. 😉

My wife’s flower find at the Kitsilano Farmer’s Market this morning is off the hook! #Vancouver #flowers

A happy, happy hour with friends, sunshine and an English Bay view that goes for miles. Cheers to the weekend that feels like summer! #vancouver

Today is International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia. A day of action, advocacy, & education to promote acceptance/equality for the #2SLGBTQIA+ community. In 2025, hate towards Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bi, trans, queer people is on the rise, so allyship more important than ever.

Things about #inflation that make you go “hmmmm 🤔”. Oil companies used taxes to justify high cost of gas. There was a kernel of truth to this. When the Carbon Tax was cut, prices dropped from $1.84 to as low as $1.50. So interesting the price is now back to nearly where it was with the tax. Hmmmm.

#Housing “Plan would create a new federal housing entity called Build Canada Homes, that the Liberals say would oversee affordable housing construction, speed up construction and provide financing to homebuilders.

It’s #ElectionDay in #Canada. Casting my ballot first thing, before work to join the more than seven million who already voted in advance.

Regardless of where you sit on the political spectrum, remember that the only poll that counts is this one, so if you didn’t already vote, please do.

At The Kettle Society we are devastated by last night’s violent tragedy in #Vancouver. Our hearts are with the victims, their families, and those affected.

Both resilience and compassion are very much needed during this difficult time.

One final pop of colour this Easter weekend. These are courtesy of my wife who planted the tulip bulbs we brought back from #Amsterdam last fall. Much like cherry blossoms, tulips don’t bloom nearly as long as we wish they would but while they do, wow! #vancouver #flowersmakemehappy #tulips

Went to see the #Banksy Without Limits Exhibition in #Vancouver yesterday. WOW! I’ve enjoyed these works over the years but often without the context of each piece. Seeing them in one place, with context that is poignant, evocative, sad and thought-provoking, often at the same time, was moving.

A spectacular start to the extra long holiday weekend. A gorgeous day with lots of sunshine, blue skies with warm temps in the upper teens. And #spring has definitely sprung in #vancouver.

A very happy #Vaisakhi to my extended family, colleagues and connections in the Sikh community who are celebrating. I hope the year ahead brings more joy and goodness into your life.

If the line to vote in today’s #Vancouver by-election is any indication, traditional municipal voter apathy is not a factor. This might only be for 2 council seats but voters clearly feel strongly about them. It will be interesting to see what those feelings are about once the ballots are counted.

Today is Transgender Day of Visibility. A day to recognize and uplift the voices of transgender people in every aspect of our society. Today is also a time to remember that many transgender people face barriers and violence because of transphobia and discrimination. #2SLGBTQIA #LGBT

Not my usual workday attire. I recently had the opportunity to tour the new St. Paul’s Hospital under construction in Vancouver.

At 2.5M sq ft, it will have 548 single patient rooms & a new approach to care for people with #mentalhealth conditions with a specialized medical/mental health care ward.

Today, think about why we need MORE diversity, equity & inclusion, not less. The gender pay gap is even worse for those who face multiple barriers, including racialized women, Indigenous women, and women with disabilities. This is abhorrently wrong and will only change if we do MORE! #IWD2025

Early days still but nice to see signs of spring on our walk today. A few more days at +10 and more crocuses will join the early snowdrops already on display. #Vancouver

Attended the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade State of the City event today and caught up sector colleagues.

The issue of supported #housing need was front and centre. Lots of discussion, on stage and in the crowd. I am hopeful, for our community, something good will come of it.

I may not one to wear my patriotism on my sleeve but like many, I am feeling especially proud and confident to be #Canadian on this National Flag of #Canada Day.

“At the stroke of noon on February 15, 1965, Canada’s red and white maple leaf flag was raised for the very first time.”
