its so reductive to boil the genre down to just "boring combat where you mash buttons" like all of the call of duty games, fifa, madden, nba and every other game that has a long history becomes repetitive

nothing more hype than one shotting 50 dudes and capturing a territory with one ultimate attack.

Especially with the latest Pirate Warriors game, there is a bunch of chain combos for EVERY character, which you unlock as you play and they are all based on attacks used by the characters.

I have the same approach when it comes to games that are generally considered bad, it may be bad to the majority, but if I like it and have a good time with it, then that means its a good game.

I also love the EDF games, as they take such a simple concept and make it fun, Like Musou, the EDF games look very basic to those who dont like it, but there is a tremendous amount of depth there. I have sunk so many hours into the Pirate Warriors games and I feel the passion and love behind them.

I hate the fact that "games reviewers" go after the Musou genre with the same tired "its repetitive" line, cause they think they are above the simple joys of what Musou provide. Killing 5 thousand men in 15 minutes with not a single microtransaction, celebrity or crossover in sight.

for me Musou is the chaos and carnage of wiping out dozens of enemies at once with huge crazy attacks and going FUCK YEAH when you pull of a sweet super and annihilate an enemy commander.

How dare you. Kuja is more than that, he is a dedicated incredible hulk fan too (lou ferrigno version), so dedicated he paints all of himself green. Even his beak and horns get the greening treatment.

If you enjoy one piece. Yes because they are just really good extra content. Its not mandatory, but worth watching them as characters in them do appear in the series during the specials. But honestly, the filler is pretty good as it is and fits into the story pretty well so you dont notice too much
