@jeromyyyc.bsky.social "Housing. But not via the most basic changes that need to happen to enable it".

Very disappointing take from Farkas over on the other site.

When I visit the Netherlands, apparently I take photos of closed bus stops.

An orange bag over the stop with text explaining the closure: Bright, simple, obvious, rainproof.

Something we should be doing over here?

Looks like my original train was cancelled. So moving was a good call.

Will we actually make up 2 minutes in Baltimore? Given our train is now out of sequence, I'm gonna guess we will actually 'lose' time here.

Live travel drama trying to get home from #TRBAM. After making me rebook to a later train 3 weeks ago, Amtrak's Acela had a mechanical issue and left 55 minutes late from DC.

I have a plane to catch at Newark. It's going to be extremely tight. Stay tuned to see if I make it!

Come say hello on what is shaping up to be a snowy #TRBAM!

Alpha House is right. We know there are solutions to the problem. Our council seems absolutely unwilling to listen to them.

Decided to do a fun back-of-the-Python-notebook calculation using an open data set I stumbled across on Calgary's website.

If you take roads and parking lots together, they cover more area than all of the buildings in the city.

Hey Skywalkers!

If you're into measuring transport equity at a large scale, interactive visualizations, or both, check out the @transitcenter.bsky.social Equity Dashboard which looks at access and distributive equity measures across 7 US regions.

Wild that the ebook version is as expensive as the full price copy!

Some maps of current zoning in Calgary around CTrain stations I put together for @moreneighboursyyc.bsky.social

Imagine the housing we could build if we just followed what BC recently did for increasing allowable density near rapid transit.

I'm not exactly sure what offering free transit on routes you might use to attend an event that costs easily $100 to attend is supposed to accomplish...

Sometimes it's fun to recreate 100 old maps with new methods.
