Updating all things Team Canada at the 2025 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship in Ottawa.
Hockey Canada discussed the possibility of changing the selection process after they admittedly left many skilled players off the team. Which may include having the team selected earlier in the year, a process that may include exhibition games earlier in the Fall.

Hockey Canada has announced that they will be hiring a full-time GM that will oversee the World Junior team. Much needed move after back to back quarterfinal exits and poor roster selection.

What could Canada's roster look like for the 2026 #WorldJuniors?

Gavin McKenna, Porter Martone, Carter George and (maybe) Landon DuPont highlight a group that's skilled and have seen plenty of success on the international stage.

Craig Button breaks down what went wrong for Team Canada, mainly the countless mistakes made by Dave Cameron. Also discusses the possibility of the World Junior GM being a full-time Hockey Canada position not just a CHL GM splitting duties with their club team which is much needed.

Before the tournament, Craig Button predicted Canada would win gold at the World Juniors in Ottawa. So, what went wrong? TSN's director of scouting identified issues with coaching and roster construction while offering up his big-picture takeaways from the fifth-place finish.

Dave Cameron says he has no regrets on how he handled the tournament. Peter Anholt says he wouldn’t have made any changes as far as the lineup goes. Outrageous tone deaf statements after a disastrous tournament.
#Worldjuniors
Team Canada head coach Dave Cameron has been questioned a lot for his lineups and coaching tactics during the World Juniors but he leaves the tournament with zero regrets. Hockey Canada senior vice-president, high performance and hockey operations Scott Salmond felt he helped bring an identity to the team and put his players in a position to succeed.

Canada falls 4-3 to Czechia on a goal in the final minute again. Penalties once again costly. Think it’s safe to say Dave Cameron will not be anywhere near a Hockey Canada bench ever again.

Looks like Carson Rehkopf will be the healthy scratch for Team Canada tonight. He took back to back penalties vs the States.

Dave Cameron’s reasoning for putting Porter Martone back in the lineup is that he plays a good 200ft game. Stunning to think that a team that has had record low scoring and has not allowed a 5 on 5 goal has a coach thinking 200ft game and not thinking of what could create more offence.
#WorldJuniors
Team Canada head coach Dave Cameron confirmed Porter Martone will draw into the lineup when Canada faces Czechia in the quarterfinals Thursday, but hasn't decided yet which player will sit. TSN's Mark Masters has more.

Five days after losing to Latvia, Canada's issues at the #WorldJuniors still aren't fixed.

They lost to an excellent team in the United States last night, but so many of Canada's issues remain self-inflicted.

When Dave Cameron was asked after the game how the coaching staff will hold the players accountable for undisciplined penalties he said “you can’t”. Add that to the long list of questionable things including player selection and inability to make adjustments when things aren’t working.

Canada is putting up a wild combo of both the worst offence ever seen at the #WorldJuniors and arguably the most undisciplined team we’ve ever seen.

Canada loses 4-1 to the USA on a plethora of undisciplined penalties, ineffective PK and an inability to clear the zone.

The host of the tournament gets to pick the schedule. Generally you want to set up the schedule so that you are playing your opponent in their second game of a back-to-back so that they are tired. This year Canada did not play a single team that played the day before.

Canada vs USA New Year’s Eve is already high stakes enough but if Canada loses it most likely means 3rd in the group and quarterfinal matchup with either Sweden or Czechia, both are undefeated. A win and they win the group and have a much easier quarterfinal matchup.

Team Canada Head Coach Dave Cameron harps on the 2-way game probably more than any other World Junior coach before. I’m just not sure that he thought he would get that out of his goalie as well. Carter George with the shutout, assist and almost a goal.

Carter George once again the player of the game for Canada. Definitely looks like if Canada has any chance of gold it all rests with Carter George. This isn’t a team that will score its way out of trouble.
