Fellow white teachers PLEASE remember that we hold a very important role in this world. Not just teaching true history and current events but holding your school, district, and community to account. DO NOT allow the micro/macro aggressions, be LOUD in your support. Be honest. BE A REAL EDUCATOR!

I’ve been at my current district for 19 years. It’s a rural, poor, super white district. I have NEVER been questioned about my wall art or the curriculum I create and I thank them for that because I would not teach in a district that tried to silence history or me.

Fun fact: despite it looking like I only have 1 cat, I have 2. Anubis (Nubes) is my special cat with hydrocephalus and is super shy so I rarely get pics. But this is Nubes trying to hypnotize me into giving him so chicken. Side note, it worked…just like every time.

Nacho is learning about “one more minute” sometimes when things get really hard Mom, or other people like mom…just need one more minute to cuddle me. I’m learning to be okay with that…sometimes I still get spicy about it….but I’m learning.
