And bits in nearby Lanercost Priory. Enjoyed looking for them a couple of months ago.

That picture, or one like it, appeared in error when my first book was reprinted some years ago! 😱 (Colour sections of two books were mixed up.) Wonder whether readers of the book it should have been in were as shocked as I was? A mosaic in lieu of a loo! 😱😱

It's great! Did you indulge in the amazing Trimontium Experience? (Or was your trip so speedy that it precluded time to sit down? 😉)

Do you habitually wear earrings? If so, yes!

Bet you don't have Stonehenge earrings, though ... (A treasured possession from some years ago.)

That's a novel and astute observation re Burberry. And the Cotswolds are the right sort of area for such sartorialness ...

Glad he's been rehabilitated. He seems OK to me.

Even when mosaics are found as part of a planned excavation, they aren't always fully cleared if it strays beyond the area the excavators set out to explore, eg the delightful marine mosaic at Wroxeter (where the excavation stopped at half a face - so frustrating!).

Enchanting! Thanks for sharing.

That was a *very* long drive! Glad you made it safely.

It is absolutely wonderful: the remains, the setting ... and the photogenic sheep. But I foolishly only looked at Carn Liath from the A9 (long journey, lots to see ...) and am now kicking myself ...
