It's not the same as what you've experienced of course, but it sucks. I remember once trying to be supportive when a producer I vaguely knew experienced unkindness about their music. They just dismissed my comments and started arguing with me about something else I'd said. Left me speechless tbh.

Really sorry to hear that mate but I can appreciate where you're coming from. I'd say between 6 and 7/10 of the interactions I have with people online these days are toxic in some way, even if I set out to be civilised and as balanced as possible. So many people just want to argue.

You're right and I think that's mainly it. I started the PhD in spring 2018 so it's been a huge part of my life for over seven years. It's strange and a little unsettling imagining what life will be like when it's done! 😅
