New Year's Resolutions for 2026:
- finish the damn website
- have the game in a super basic playable state
- figure out ways to make life better for family but also contribute meaningfully to causes for sustainability & environment conservation
- challenge myself to go out more and not puke

I may have an idea to change the literacy levels of this country, but an idea is all it is.

I'll let you know what happens.

Okay, this is genuinely amazing. Someone's made a spoon & bowl that makes food taste saltier.

When will she invent the sweet version?

Do you ever feel like some people just operate on a different frequency? Like you can be nice to them, you can be friendly, but there's just no chemistry for anything below surface-level acquaintanceship, and you just never "get" each other.

First heard of bokchoy through Harvest Moon but never had it until last year. Great for simple but healthy cooking. No wonder it's one of the first crops you handle in the game.

I've spent the past few days playing #EmpireMUD with a few friends who have never played a #MUD before.

They got so addicted, stopped playing Deadlock, kept thinking about strategies for their text-based adventures. I'd log on and one would already be playing by himself, learning more commands.

I see #Wicked has really been hyping up the sequel.

I used to write "by accident" and then people at work kept going "on accident" so I find that I interchange both... I don't like it.

'On Accident' Versus 'by Accident'
Your age determines whether you’re more likely to say “by accident” or “on accident.” Kids today, man. Kids today.

I feel like Bluesky has more academics and X has more startup owners spewing "content" about how they made $100k last month, are 19 y/o, and are now on a yacht.

I didn't know how to cook when I first started working on this #cookinggame.

Since then, I've been slowly learning and making simple dishes. It's given me lots of insight and I've been eating healthier since.

But every now and then, I experiment with #mushrooms and add a shit ton of cayenne...

Many artists I know have this fear of GenAI, but I remember a friend's art teacher telling their class it's only going to push artists to move in whole new directions in order to create human-made work that's distinguishable from the computer-generated.

Perhaps we'll see a flash of brilliance soon.

Halfway through this paper, I think I'm starting to get why #MUDs like Chatmud were popular.

So today I learned that that the term for the other place is "Xhitter".

Does that mean tweets are now called "xhits"?

Hard relate. It's always felt to me like "why would they give a fuck about my work?"

I think what's changed this for me is that I am now consciously creating things aiming to serve a greater good, so it feels less like tooting my horn and more of "here's an idea that can help you, maybe."
Self promo is my bane; it makes me feel like an immense tit when I post stuff about my writing (thanks to upbringing - never blow your own horn), but it is increasingly apparent that all it means is that I'm utterly invisible as a writer...

So, anyway.

I have books and stories out there.

People keep saying RP MUDs are dying, nobody from the younger generations are playing them.

But uh, I've secretly infiltrated a One Piece RP server run purely on Discord and found there to be an insane amount of #GenZ roleplayers writing out creative posts with music and formatting.
