I get why LA isn't for a lot of people. For me, it moves in a familiar way. That said I do love Seattle, Tokyo and San Fran. Never got to go to Boston or Philly. Chicago is lovely too!

Finally managed to get hold of The Last Yakuza in my neck of the woods. Saving it for my holiday in December!
I love LA. It reminds me a lot of my home town JHB; it's a sprawl that doesn't give up its best parts and secrets easily. You have to get to know it.

I think it's been over for quite some time. I think you can trace the beginning of its demise back to around 2014 when social media was used to nuke the middle ground from orbit.

I can understand that. Totally. I just wish occasionally I could read a story where the missives from people trying to wreck things were just met with a curt "why don't you **** off?", which is straight out of the playbook of the people who are revelling in this.

Watching this from the other side of the world - so if this is a dumb question, I apologise - why did the DG and Head of News resign? Why didn't they just apologise (we made a mistake - everyone makes mistakes) and then look into how this happened?

I agree with you about IWTV. It's gorgeously made but I struggle to get through the episodes. Am persevering because I want to give it a chance, but it's heavy going - even three episodes in.
