I’m being asked regularly whether you have responded to my heartfelt letter for you to stand down in favour of the Liberal candidate given the dire times we are in. All of us are longstanding NDPers, and the lack of response is viewed poorly.

I suspect that our silence on genocide has emboldened the fascists and contributed to our current situation.

I’ve asked my NDP candidate to step down before the election in favour of the Liberal candidate. It is the honourable way to ensure that the vote is not split.

I write this as a friend and lifelong NDP supporter. But we now face an existential threat. I ask that you consider the best interests of your country, and step down before the election in favour of the liberal candidate. We need to pull together now.

Not only is it disturbing, it is ethnic cleansing and will likely involve further genocide. The entire world will be responsible if we allow this to happen. Just like we are all responsible for not doing more to stop Israel.
