There's honestly a lot that can be done and since the actual Polybius's origins vary THERE ARE MULTIPLE WAYS TO DO IT!

some say it was a government experiment with drugs, some say it was haunted, some say it was just a faulty game, etc
THERE IS SO MUCH YOU CAN DO!1!1!1

And have this thing be a half flesh half machine eldritch horror that drives kids to madness, eats maintenance men,and hurts anyone who dares to cheat or mess with the cabinet in any way

There's also the Turbo route where this thing can invade and destroy other games

The cabinet also was said to flash with bright colors and subliminal messaging instead of proper gameplay (I'm aware we have El Pendrive Azul as the flashy one but IT COULD BE REALLY INTERESTING!)

You can also take inspiration from the less realistic retellings *cough cough* CABINET MAN *cough*

ok so one of my favorite things about Polybius is that there are a LOT of different interpretations of the legend so there's a lot to pull from in terms of lore and unique abilities
