Vergeten werden de Hof muzikanten, de Stadsmuziekmeester van Rotterdam en zijn getalenteerde cello en vioolspelende zonen. Uiteindelijk kwam het muzikale talent in onze tijd toch weer boven via 2 Engelse broers, een cellist en een beroemde componist van musicals.

My ancestor Jan Jansz van H was born in Strijen today in 1720.With Maria Jansdr P, he had 9 children, of whom only the youngest seems to have grown older than 8y.

Maria died in 1800 during a pox epidemic. Her 9-month-old son died a week later. On the card of the medical examination of her eldest son Johan, the following was noted: 'Endured pox infection'.

Henrich continued his master tailor training in THe Haque, with Arnoldus. Maria Arnoldus daughter became my 4 ggmother. The umlaut on the u in his name was soon overlooked by the municipal administration. Henrich signed with the umlaut for years to come.

There were still outstanding bills and by will everything had to be divided equally between her 3 children and Pieter. Of the 6 properties she used for living and storage, 5 had to be sold. And Pieter had to walk the tightrope for years to come.

Philippe M worked with Jean Brilla in 1741, and both men are known to have performed in England that same year.
So Mynheer M is not my 6xggf Pieter, but my 7ggf Philippe.
