Exciting day today. It's been 123 days of learning Japanese and I just finished the first set of beginner lessons. It's exciting! ... Now to start the intermediate lessons. 😬

Took a small break from pushing forward in lessons to just shore up vocabulary kand practice grammar. Still getting my ass kicked by some small pieces (counting things and memorizing kanji is HARD) but overall quite excited. Only have 10 lessons left for level 1.

Yes good. 75%, 75 Days in. It's exciting. I can read, write, and recognize a lot of the words. Speaking and listening is still pretty hard, but we're working in it!

Last night after my practice but yeah! Almost a month strong now and I'm learning a lot. Have to take a day or two to do nothing but review once or twice a week, but it's helping me retain. My only issue is not a lot of time is spent writing the characters; it's mostly sight recognition for reading.

All sets learned. Starting to piece together some words. Will start on Katakana next week.
Also need to look at the rules for the "alternate sounds" and the rules for making them; looks like it's a (") placed on the character , I.e. "GA" from "KA" and "DE" from "TE" etc.

New Update: only one (and a half) set left to learn. Then probably a few days drilling this in before moving on to next steps. Maybe looking to start katakana next week? Or maybe basic vocabulary practice in Hiragana? Fortunately pronunciation does not seem to be tonal. Whew.

Took the weekend off. But started back on it. Bit more challenging to remember them all and not mix up a few of the symbols. Also I know it's actually "Fu" but I am not making its own category! Yet.

Day 2.5/3 - four sets of hiragana characters down with decent accuracy. Made a little grid, mixed up sounds and vowel locations so I'm not just drawing them from pattern memory. Working on a fifth set for today. 2 sets per day, 46 characters means ~3 more days before I've got them all "learned."
