fear hijacks the nervous system. when we are in fight, flight, freeze, or fawn ... when we are in survival mode ... we can't make rational decisions. we react instead of responding. the best thing you can do is learn to regulate your nervous system, so you can better handle the world at large.

there is complexity to this question. yes, scary shit happens. but also, so does a lot of good. & a lot more good would happen if people weren't operating out of a fear-based state. the media intentionally induces fear within us, because we are better consumers & more compliant when we're scared.
