trout farm picnic. we fed the fish and ate smoked salmon and allouette cheese and chips and watergate salad

this isn’t a “real” au, like i don’t ever think about it and I just made it up on the spot for a prompt once, but the drama of it still tickles me
paragraph written in apple notes app that says: High fantasy Cargo AU Matt is like some non-magical nobleman who got sent away from his family’s estate bc he like royally fucked up killing a dragon or some shit, he’s now on some kind of like impossible mission to get back the family jewels that were lost or something but he has no leads and has completely lost hope, BUT ANYWAYS at some point he befriended SJ, who’s like this clearly nefarious priestess for some fringe god, and she’s persuaded him that she can help him find the aforementioned jewels they just have to do some minor crimes along the way, bc she has to, for the god, he wouldn’t get it. Richard Parker is Matt’s indentured servant and he’s just some serf they all treat like trash but he secretly has like skrying powers or something he like bleeds magic he’s wicked OP and the king’s entire army is literally hunting him down the entire time because he wants RP’s powers for himself. Stan is Matt’s cousin (still in good graces in his own estate) who had an unfortunate episode with dying but then a rather fortunate episode with his parents figuring out necromancy who is helping provide resources for Matt’s journey (since Matt is cut off from his estate remember) Stan also personally knows the death god (side effect of having died) and has some ambiguous powers that go along with that. SJ is very anti that because her god is NOT simpatico with the death god. Ekat is some thug they picked up at the tavern

other lineups from 2024, 2022, and 2016. i just keep drawing them i can't stop. the 2022 one is especially fun because I'd JUST gotten back into drawing these characters again and felt so uncertain about what they should look like and that lineup really helped me start to figure that out
