Governments like ours deny it in our schools, but history is one of the *actually important* subjects humanity must always study. It's not about the past; history is always a story about today, and through its telling, we can create the justifications for our worst sins. Monsters become heroes.

Went to a Palestine film night and saw Tantura, a very good doco about a village that was wiped out during the Nakba. The tactic of slaughter, wiping history in the moment and after the fact, and then denial and cancellations hasn't changed one bit. It is the same story, over and over, for 76 years.
