Had a shockingly great conversation with someone on Instagram on a video touting the classic white fragility arguments associated with the right-wing talking points that there's some kind of racial agenda for domination (-which isn't to say that I'd necessarily disagree if there were...)

So I joined Bluesky, followed about 760 environmental scientists, activists, and science communicators, but my feed has been inundated with nothing but the ruin of America.

What's happening in the climate change world? What's happening with Biodiversity? Can I get back to those topics now?

Occasional reminder that there’s no, “it’s too late, its over” for anthropogenic climate change. Every molecule of CO2 that doesn’t go into the atmosphere makes a difference. Preventing 0.1 degree of warming makes a difference. Every bit of climate resilience we build together makes a difference.

Asked ChatGPT to write me an R script for a data dictionary ... And it is SO close but SO far at the same time.

The problem is that I'm trying to splice file names that have both numerical and alphabetic characters, so the script is trying to bind <integer> with <character> and that's my first err
