A little older, and a little wiser.
A government that can take away someone else’s rights without oversight will eventually take yours. That’s a line we all should hold—no matter where we stand politically.
Just some thoughts I’ve been turning over. Curious where you land.

Even if most people ICE targets are here illegally, it’s not okay for innocent people to be caught in that net. Due process isn’t optional—it’s the foundation of freedom.

Fixing immigration is hard. Building real systems that work is hard.
You know what’s easy?
“Just deport them all.”
“Open the borders.”
Both are lazy takes. Emotional takes. And dangerous ones.

If a government can change your legal status and deport you without a hearing, then your rights aren’t real. They’re temporary. And that’s a hell of a slippery slope.

What we shouldn’t do is throw out due process. Not for speed. Not for convenience.
Because if we do that—even to people here illegally—we’re opening the door to abuse. That power can come for anyone.

The truth is: our economy needs workers to take jobs most Americans won’t. That doesn’t mean ignore the law. It means fix the system, properly vet people, and manage it like adults.

Same with immigration. Are there people here illegally? Yes. Are some involved in crime? Also yes.
But is it an “invasion”? Are gangs taking over? That’s not what the data says. Fear distorts the truth.

Nobody wants their money wasted. I don’t either.
And yes, there’s fraud in government. But if it were truly rampant, we’d see nonstop criminal cases. We don’t. Some of the claims—like dead people cashing welfare checks—are flat-out nonsense.

Those stretches sound like:
“The whole government is corrupt and full of fraud.”
“Illegals are overrunning our cities in violent gangs.”
Now we’ve moved into manipulation territory.

It usually starts with a truth:
“The government should be more efficient.”
“Immigration should be legal.”
Both fair. But then come the stretches…
