Thanks to this video, I learned about Guidemon and Navimon and they are suddenly two of my favorite Digimon. Love those designs.

Your article makes it sound like GOG revived some old console-exclusive game and got a PC port made for it, which is just contributing to the already massive amounts of misunderstanding we've seen in the Digimon fandom already.

You don't say that explicitly, but you do say the Dreamlist "resulted in the official PC release of Dino Crisis 1 and 2" which is not accurate and paints an unrealistic picture.

DC1+2 already *had* official PC releases. They were just old and unsuppored. Most Digimon games have *no* PC releases.

From what I've heard, GOG don't *make* PC ports. They update and patch existing ones to run on modern hardware.

Dino Crisis 1 and 2 already had PC ports from 2000 and 02, respectively. All Digimon's got is a Korean port of DW1, and they don't do translations either. This ain't happening, chief.

I used to have some of those old Digivice toys. I think I had a D3, and I know I had a D Arc and... I don't remember what the Frontiers one was called, but I had that too.

Foolish child that I was, I didn't keep track of them and lost them when we moved.

As far as I know, the games aren't on GOG at all. That is, essentially, a wishlist of games people *want* on the site, and they can put basically anything on there.

The Digimon World games basically have no PC ports (I've only heard of a Korean one for 1), so they aren't likely to be added.

It's not easy advice to follow, but to break writers block you just have to write. Even if you have nothing coming to mind, just force *something.*

If it's crap—and it probably will be—you can fix it later. But you can't fix something that isn't there to begin with.

Best of luck, friend.

Well, it seems a shame to abandon all that work, but if you're wondering whether to keep going or not you've really just gotta ask yourself if you're enjoying writing.

There's not much point in forcing yourself to do something you don't enjoy, but if it's fun, go ahead and pick it back up!

Original settings are criminally underutilized. Got a link?

As a character, if I were writing a story, all of this backstory would be there pretty much to inform the character of Ancientmermaidmon in the present-day, when the actual protagonists encounter it—its time as partner to a human child is long past.

an early time that becoming Ancientmermaidmon was natural. Now, it's less of a recluse, sometimes venturing out into the shallower waters or even the surface to meddle in the affairs of modern Digimon, but it's fickle and destructive, which means it now has a bit of a reputation as a calamity.

the "natural" style, of a Digimon just living for a long time and making it past Ultimate that way. As a recluse, Waruseadramon lived a long time, accumulated data from hunting and such, and eventually transformed to Ancientmermaidmon due to being such an ancient Digimon—its Digicore was from such

It became a recluse for a long time, and ages passed in the Digital World. I see its Digivolution to Mega more in

Once they did find it, Hookmon and the crew worked together to take it down, and once they did, it Digivolved—into the very Digimon it had spent its life trying to get revenge on.

irrevocably on the path of revenge and brutality. Its rage at its partners fate forced a Digivolution to Hookmon, who put together a crew with one purpose: hunt down the Digimon who killed his partner.

Along the way to this goal, it treated its crew horribly, and disposably. It didn't care who got

Waruseadramon.

So, character-wise: I've settled on the idea that as Elecmon, this Digimon had a partner. That partner *could* have been a good influence on it, guiding it towards more virtuous behavior, but... one fateful day, a Waruseadramon attacked them, and the partner died.

This put Elecmon

Ancientmermaidmon, a Data or Vaccine type depending on the source. But, the Reference Book describes her being quite temperamental, even erasing whole continents just because she was angry.

The Reference Book is also what lists her as Data, which I feel is an easier jump to make for our unpleasant

him a quite natural inclination towards continued nastiness. Then from there, Waruseadramon is described as a Seadramon-species that has "evolved in wickedness." Seems like a pretty natural evolution of a pirate Digimon to me.

My first instinct was that all of that wouldn't really jive with

electric powers, I just needed to find a Champion to connect those two stages.

Elecmon (Violet) is described as an unpleasant personality and a tendency to bully others, which means that Hookmon is a pretty good segue into the "aquatic" side of things.

He's a pirate, and a virus-type, which gives

Alright, the hardest part of this line to wrangle is pulling the land-bound Digimon with electricity powers to the aquatic Digimon with water-based powers. Pretty much polar opposites, really.

But since AncientMermaidmon can Digivolve from Waruseadramon, who is an aquatic Digimon with at least SOME
