The Government is right in stopping seeing this as an age related benefit and making it needs related. Plenty of us OAPs with decent pensions can do without it.

Not at all. The language is important though - alienates many people who would agree with you. Israel consistently gets off the hook by successfully painting its opponents as unreasonable extremists. The bad language plays into that stereotype and achieves nothing.
