I can not believe this goofy little novel made me cry. What a great story. I need this to be published as a physical copy so I can have it on my bookshelf. Absolutely scratched the same itch as SVSSS. Once I get through the extras I’m getting started on Devil Venerable asap

It even does that classic morality play thing where the bad guys have to admit they’re bad and feel bad about it, so you don’t even the Derring-do finale of Theodore heroically vanquishing his foe or a more somber yet still cathartic breakdown into madness. So unsatisfying!

If you’re familiar enough with trashy wuxia and isekai cliches I highly recommend SVSSS as a jumping on point. It’s the exact sort of mean yet affectionate teasing that can only come from a true understanding of the genre
