Yeah, the only lessons to be taken are by prospective candidates on how to run ground games, on trusting their political instincts, on maintaining their unique voice as a source of trustworthiness and on keeping a tight focus and discipline on the race you want to run and the seat you want to win

Just too many things that make this election particularly unique makes it hard to draw any conclusions worthwhile from it.

Like the most “real” conclusions you can draw from this is as a view on how to see the 2026 dem primaries (centrist establishment versus new socialist candidate), but even that’s a bad analogy given a.) Cuomo’s sexual assault history b.) Trump and MAGA world actively siding with Cuomo

Yes, but Adams only ran against Sliwa, and de Blasio only ran against Nicole Malliotakis.
It’s not really fair to make percentage based comparisons for a 3 person race to a 2 person race, but you could make an equally (un)convincing argument about Sliwa getting 27% in 2021 and like 9% this year
